Let me say this right from the start.
I’m not a seasoned politician. I haven’t spent years learning how to campaign, raise money, or say what people want to hear.
I’m a blue-collar worker who has worked for the City of Toronto since 2006. I’ve seen how this city operates from the inside, and I’ve experienced the same everyday struggles that many Torontonians experience. Rising costs, economic pressure, physical work, long days, and the frustration of seeing your hard earned tax dollars being wasted.
When politicians knock on your door during an election, there is often a strategy behind it. They want to identify supporters, persuade undecided voters and ask you for a donation.
That is NOT me.
I will NOT ask you for money.
I will NOT accept donations.
I’m running because I believe Toronto needs to change, elected officials who are willing to listen and actually do something about the problems we face. We need people in office who have solutions to our problems that can be implemented as soon as possible. During my time working for the city, I have seen firsthand where things go wrong, where money is being wasted, and where improvements has to be made.
I know what it feels like to have a good idea but be told:
“That’s above your pay grade.” Well, now I’m stepping up.
I want to bring forward practical changes that can improve the way Toronto operates, reduce waste, and make sure taxpayers get better value for their money.
I don’t expect you to simply believe me.
I will show you what I have done up to now, what I have learned, where I believe the problems are, and what we can do differently.
I’m not asking you for a donation, I'm paying for this campaign with my own money, because we must change so our children can have a better future, even if you do not have children, you must understand that they are our future, the future of Canada. This is what I'm asking of you
1️⃣ TAKE A LOOK.
Look at the immediate changes I want to bring to Toronto.
2️⃣ HELP IF YOU CAN.
If you believe we can do better and have some time, become a volunteer. Visit my website, help spread the word. Talk to your friends, family, neighbours and coworkers. Help us reach more and get these ideas in front of more people.
3️⃣ IF YOU BELIEVE WE NEED CHANGES, GIVE ME YOUR VOTE.
That’s it, no fundraising, no donations no asking you for a cheque.
Just your attention, your help if you choose to give it, and ultimately, your vote.
I’m not running to become another politician. I’m running because I believe Toronto can do better.
I know what it’s like to work for a living. I know what it’s like to deal with the everyday pressures that ordinary Torontonians face, and I know that having good ideas means nothing if nobody is willing to listen and act.
It’s time to listen.
It’s time to stop wasting.
It’s time to make things work better.
I’m Andy Potega, and I’m running for Toronto City Council, Ward 4
I’m not asking for your money.
I’m asking for the opportunity to earn your trust. I'm asking for your vote so we can help our children have a better future.
